J.Y. Park Feels At Ease with JYP Entertainment's Second-Place Industry Ranking

JYP Entertainment founder J.Y. Park confessed that he feels more relaxed and at ease because JYP Entertainment is second in the industry after HYBE. On December 6, J.Y. Park appeared as a special guest on MBC’s ‘Radio Star’ with Kim Bum Soo, Kim Wan Sun, and Park Mi Kyung.

This was J.Y. Park’s first appearance on ‘Radio Star’ in three years. He engaged in a comprehensive discussion about various facets of the Korean music industry. Notably, he delved into his relationship with Bang Si Hyuk, the chairman of HYBE and former producer at JYP, offering insights into their professional dynamics.

Additionally, Park shared his perspectives on the remarkable success of HYBE. J.Y. Park expressed, “If Si Hyuk didn’t do well and wasn’t successful, it would hurt my heart more.” He added, “(JYP) was once number 1 in the industry, but I feel more at ease being number 2. I think 2nd place is just the perfect spot.”

He continued to share, “Gradual upward progress is better than being number 1.” Park then revealed his ultimate goal for JYP Entertainment. He announced his plan to build a new JYP Center with a massive floor area of 10,000 pyeong (~355,831 sq ft).

J.Y. Park explained, “JYP’s new headquarters will be the most creative space in the Kpop world.” His vision for the new centre reflects his ambition and commitment to fostering a creative environment.
