Quincy Williams, a linebacker for the Jets, didn’t get picked for the Pro Bowl, which surprised him. His teammate Sauce Gardner and his brother Quinnen Williams made it.
Quincy had a great season, with two sacks, two forced fumbles, an interception, and 91 solo tackles, ranking fifth in the league. He thought he’d get into the Pro Bowl, especially after the fan votes came out.
“Yeah, especially when the fan votes came out,” he said. “So, it was kind of like one of those things, but it’s also a business … I had to learn. So, I think the mindset is like, can he do it again? With me having this good year, the blueprint is already there.”
Quincy is disappointed but is focusing on next season. He wants to leave no doubt that he deserves to be in the Pro Bowl.
“My thoughts on [the snub] is like, this season is already over,” Williams said. “So, the biggest thing next season is leaving no doubt. That’s like my motto for the next season coming up. So, going through the offseason stuff, working on what I need to work on, also what I did good in and working on things I had trouble in. So, next year there will be no doubt that I’m a Pro Bowler.”
He still plans to go to the Pro Bowl to support his brother Quinnen, who made it.
As for the game against the Patriots, some Jets players won’t be playing due to injuries. Quarterback Zach Wilson, tight end Jeremy Ruckert, and offensive lineman Jacob Hansen are still in concussion protocol. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and offensive lineman Wes Schweitzer were limited in practice. Running back Israel Abanikanda, defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers, and wide receiver Allen Lazard were full participants in practice.
