Users on X, which used to be called Twitter, made fun of President Biden after they saw a video of First Lady Jill Biden guiding him offstage following his remarks on the anniversary of January 6.
Many people found it funny that White House staff let Biden’s wife hurry up and lead him away from the podium before he could do anything embarrassing like hesitate or walk to the wrong side of the stage.
RNC Research’s X account posted a clip from the end of Biden’s speech near Valley Forge in Pennsylvania. In the video, Biden criticized former President Trump and his supporters again, calling them a threat to democracy.
In the clip, as soon as Biden finished his speech, the First Lady went up on stage, took his hand, and led him to the back of the stage, where they both disappeared behind the American flags.
The account wrote: “Jill, Ed.D., escorts Biden off the stage following his remarks.”
Jake Schneider from RNC Research commented: “She’s walking him off the stage like a child.”
Karen Townsend, an associate editor at HotAir.com, joked: “Someone had to do it.”
TownHall.com’s official account expressed relief, saying: “Thank goodness that Jill Biden is there to lead Joe off stage.”
The Daily Mail US account added to the scene, saying: “Jill Biden rushed to embrace zoned-out Biden after he finished speech, then went into trance-like state on-stage.”
On X, reporter Simon Ateba wrote: “BREAKING – NEW ARRANGEMENT: First Lady @DrBiden now escorts President @JoeBiden off the stage after his remarks in PA. President Biden has been struggling to find his way off the stage during previous remarks. The problem has now been solved. WATCH.”
Later that day, when Biden landed in Delaware to spend the weekend with his family, he appeared confused. RNC Research shared a clip of the moment where Biden seemed to look around puzzled for a while after leaving his presidential helicopter.
The account captioned the clip: “After two weeks of vacation and a 32-minute speech, Biden is back in Delaware for a weekend respite. He was VERY confused upon landing.”
