Jerry Jones didn’t say much after the Cowboys lost in the playoffs. But Robert Griffin III thinks he has an answer.
He says the Cowboys should fire Mike McCarthy and hire Deion Sanders.
Griffin, a former NFL quarterback and ESPN analyst, said this in a video after the loss.
“I usually don’t call for coaches to be fired, but something needs to change,” Griffin said. “You’ve had three seasons with 12 wins each, but nothing to show for it. People say maybe get Bill Belichick as coach next, because we all know Mike McCarthy is on his way out. But I have a different idea. You need Coach Prime. Deion Sanders, that’s who you need.”
Sanders played for the Cowboys from 1995 to 1999 and won two Super Bowls with them. He’s also been coaching, helping Colorado’s football team. But in his first season, they didn’t do well.
“Coach Prime knows what it takes to win in Dallas,” Griffin said. “He knows how to lead a team to victory. He can make a difference in the team’s culture. Look at what he did at Jackson State and Colorado.”
But it’s not clear if Sanders would want to coach the Cowboys.
