Cellphone Network Outage Prompts AT&T to Offer $5 to Affected Customers

Cellphone Network Outage Prompts AT&T to Offer $5 to Affected Customers
AT&T had a problem with its cellphone network

Last week, AT&T had a problem with its cellphone network, which stopped working for many people. To make up for this, AT&T has decided to give $5 to each customer who was affected. This money will be added to their account within two billing cycles. However, this offer is not for AT&T Business customers, those with prepaid service, or customers of Cricket, AT&T’s low-cost wireless service. Prepaid customers will have other options available to them, but AT&T didn’t say what those options are.

The outage started early on Thursday and lasted for some time before the service was fixed. AT&T said it was because of a mistake in the coding of their system. They made it clear that it wasn’t because of a cyberattack.

During the outage, some iPhone users saw SOS messages on their phones. This message means the phone couldn’t connect to the AT&T network, but it could still make emergency calls using other networks.
