NCT’s Renjun Issues Personal Apology for Leaked Phone Number

Idol Apologizes for Civilian's Privacy Breach.

NCT’s Renjun has taken full responsibility for accidentally revealing a civilian’s phone number and issuing a personal apology on his Instagram account.

Earlier, SM Entertainment apologized after Renjun, believing the number belonged to a sasaeng fan (obsessive fan), mistakenly exposed it on the Bubble messaging app. The number’s owner, Ms. C, confirmed she simply dialled incorrectly and never intended to contact Renjun.

Ms. C criticized SM for initially apologizing through a public statement rather than directly contacting her. While Renjun’s manager did apologize on his behalf and promised to minimize further leaks, Ms C reported facing harassment and was forced to change her phone number.

NCT’s Renjun personally apologized for the leaking number incident.

Taking ownership of the situation, Renjun’s heartfelt apology acknowledges the incident’s impact on Ms. C:

“I apologize to those who were affected by my reckless actions yesterday. I always wanted to bring positive energy through music and performances, but my judgment was clouded in a moment, and I made the wrong choice. I sincerely apologize to those who were hurt or suffered because of me. Please stop contacting the affected person due to my reckless behaviour. I deeply regret my actions and will be more careful not to act impulsively in the future. Once again, I apologize to everyone who was hurt by me.”

Renjun mistakes was forced by his previous experience with saesang fans.

The phone number has since been removed from the Bubble platform.

This incident highlights the importance of online privacy and the potential consequences of mistaken actions. Renjun’s previous struggles with sasaeng fans further emphasize the need for healthy boundaries between idols and fans.
