Aditya Kondawar, a startup VP and author, had a terrible experience on an Air India flight from Bengaluru to Pune on June 24. Upset by the delay and dirty conditions, he vowed never to fly with the airline again, even if it meant paying more or taking alternative transport like a bullock cart. He shared his frustration on social media, emphasizing his decision to avoid Air India.
Kondawar explained that his flight, scheduled for 9:50 pm, didn’t take off until 12:15 am. The plane was dirty and smelled bad. He finally got home at 3 am after dealing with airline management. Despite respecting the Tata Group, which owns Air India, he called the experience a disaster.
Air India Express responded by apologizing and blaming the delay on uncontrollable factors. They promised to fix the issues with the plane and asked Kondawar to consider this an isolated incident. They assured him they would improve their services and hoped he would give them another chance.
Other travelers also shared bad experiences with Air India. Vishal Malhotra mentioned a flight to Goa delayed by four hours, followed by further delays. Wazz Shak found dry feces on his seat during a flight from Doha to Delhi. Manoj Rijhwani faced a long delay on a flight from Srinagar. These stories highlight ongoing service and punctuality problems with the airline.
