aespa has set a new record for the longest-running number-one song on the Melon weekly chart this year with their hit “Supernova.” Released on May 13 as a pre-release track from their first full-length album, “Supernova” dominated the Melon weekly chart for five consecutive weeks (June 17-23), marking the longest streak for any song released this year and showcasing the group’s immense popularity.
In addition to their Melon success, “Supernova” has held the top spot on the Bugs and Genie weekly charts for six and five consecutive weeks, respectively. Another track from the album, “Armageddon,” has also secured a place in the top 10, highlighting aespa’s strong digital performance and widespread appeal.
The group’s achievements extend beyond digital charts. aespa earned triple crowns on Mnet’s ‘M Countdown’ and SBS’s ‘Inkigayo’ with “Armageddon” and “Supernova,” amassing a total of 12 music show trophies. They also led Tencent Music’s integrated K-pop chart in China for six consecutive weeks, reinforcing their status as “global hitmakers.”
Looking ahead, aespa is set to hold their second solo concert, ‘2024 aespa LIVE TOUR – SYNK: PARALLEL LINE,’ on June 29-30 at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul. Following this, they will release their Japanese debut single ‘Hot Mess’ on July 3, continuing their active promotional activities.
