Indian Man Arrested for Sexual Assault at Moncton Water Park

An Indian man was arrested in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, for sexually assaulting people at a public water park. The incident occurred on July 7, 2024, when the 25-year-old man, originally from India but residing in Halifax, was reported for groping individuals at the park. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) responded to the scene around 2 pm following reports of sexual interference and assault.

The RCMP’s investigation revealed that the man had been walking around the water park and groping people. Testimonies from at least twelve victims were collected, including some under the age of 16. These testimonies played a crucial role in the police’s understanding of the extent of the assaults.

Upon arriving at the scene, the police located the suspect, who was still at the water park. He was arrested without any resistance. Following his arrest, the man was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Moncton provincial court on October 24, 2024. The authorities are continuing their investigation to determine if there were additional victims.

Sgt. Sylvette Hebert of the Codiac Regional RCMP emphasized the importance of reporting such incidents. She urged parents to speak to their children if they were present at the water park on the day of the incident. She also reassured the public that any complaints of sexual assault would be taken seriously and thoroughly investigated.

The RCMP’s ongoing investigation seeks to uncover any further victims and provide support to those affected. The police are committed to ensuring that all reports of sexual misconduct are addressed, encouraging anyone who may have experienced such behavior to come forward. The incident highlights the need for vigilance and prompt reporting to address and prevent sexual assault in public spaces.
