U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, cast her vote today in favor of Kash Patel’s nomination to lead the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), advancing his confirmation to the full Senate for consideration.
“Kash Patel is prepared to refocus the FBI on its core mission—protecting the American people from terrorists, hostile foreign adversaries, and violent criminals,” Senator Britt stated.
“As FBI Director, he will put an end to the agency’s weaponization and ensure that targeting Americans based on political beliefs becomes a thing of the past.
I was proud to support his nomination in the Senate Judiciary Committee today because he will prioritize national security and help make America safe again. I look forward to voting for him on the Senate floor and urge his swift confirmation.”
Commitment to Alabama’s National Security Contributions
Senator Britt also expressed her enthusiasm for welcoming Patel to Alabama once he is confirmed. “I look forward to introducing Kash Patel to Alabama.
He already understands the immense strategic value that Redstone Arsenal provides to national security, and I am eager for him to meet the hardworking Alabamians who play a vital role in protecting our homeland,” she added.

Patel’s Stance on Law Enforcement and Government Overreach
During Patel’s hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Britt highlighted his dedication to restoring security and upholding constitutional principles. “I have heard you say that your duty is to protect American citizens, that you will work to uphold the Constitution,” she noted.
“You’ve made it clear that your focus will be on violent crime and that you will stand firmly behind law enforcement. You’ve also stated that you will not tolerate victims of government overreach—something you have personally experienced.”
Strengthening FBI Presence in Alabama
Senator Britt also underscored Alabama’s crucial role in national security, particularly through Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville. Patel affirmed his commitment to maintaining and strengthening the FBI’s presence in the state.
“Senator, you have that commitment,” he responded. “This is a prime example of the FBI’s infrastructure and capabilities across the nation, which are already funded in the billions. Redstone Arsenal is a vast, 38,000-acre campus, and there are still 4,000 open seats. Let’s get to work—I’ll come to Alabama, and we’ll fill those seats.”
With Patel’s nomination advancing, Senator Britt remains focused on reinforcing Alabama’s national security contributions and ensuring a strong, accountable FBI under new leadership.
