Portuguese cleaning solutions manufacturer Chemitek Solar has launched an upgraded version of its photovoltaic (PV) panel maintenance product, called Antistatic Solar Armor 2.0. The enhanced formula is designed to provide longer-lasting cleanliness and reduce the frequency of reapplication. This development represents a strategic improvement aimed at increasing the efficiency and longevity of solar energy systems worldwide.

Engineered for Year-Round Protection and Seamless Integration with Existing PV Cleaning Systems

According to Chemitek’s CEO César Martins, the new version was specifically engineered to last for at least one year, matching the typical annual cleaning schedule of most PV installations globally. By offering a coating that remains effective between yearly cleanings, the company aims to help solar operators reduce energy losses due to dirt and dust accumulation, a common problem in PV efficiency.

The Antistatic Solar Armor 2.0 is formulated to integrate seamlessly with existing cleaning processes. Users simply mix 1 kg of the product with 1,000 liters of water, which can then be applied using standard cleaning robots or tractor-mounted brushes. This compatibility with routine maintenance procedures eliminates the need for additional labor or equipment, optimizing operational costs and efficiency.

Eco-Friendly, Safe, and Effective: Certified Solution for Long-Term Solar Panel Performance

Chemitek emphasizes the product’s eco-friendly design, highlighting that it is biodegradable, non-toxic, and free from aggressive chemicals like solvents and ammonia. Its water-based, pH-neutral composition ensures safety for both the environment and the sensitive components of solar panels. The product is also TÜV certified, underscoring its compliance with industry standards for safety and reliability.

Antistatic Solar Armor 2.0 is available in a range of container sizes, from 2 kg up to 1,000 kg, making it suitable for both small-scale and utility-scale applications. The solution maintains its effectiveness for up to three years when unopened, six months after opening, and up to 48 hours once diluted. Chemitek claims that the product’s dual antistatic and anti-adherent properties can boost solar energy production by up to 5% by slowing the rate of soiling accumulation on panels.
