BTS Celebrates Jin’s Return, Suga’s Absence Raises Curiosity Among Fans

BTS Jin is warmly welcomed back by his bandmates.

After about two years, BTS’s Jin is officially discharged from the military. ARMYs are celebrating his return and a heartwarming reunion with his fellow BTS members.

On the morning of the 12th, Jin completed his 1.5-year active-duty military service and was officially discharged. In December 2022, he enlisted as an assistant instructor at the 5th Infantry Division Recruit Training Battalion in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do, and served faithfully until the end.

Despite being a top star, Jin opted for a quiet and simple discharge day with other soldiers and journalists. Before exiting, Jin greeted the soldiers, showing camaraderie by hugging them and shedding tears. He then saluted the reporters with a dignified appearance.

Jin completed his 18-month military service with the 5th Infantry Division.

K-pop fans, especially ARMYs, were asked beforehand to refrain from visiting the site to avoid crowds and ensure safety. Instead, Jin promised to meet his fans on June 13 through “2024 FESTA,” an event celebrating their debut anniversary at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul.

The first part of the event will feature “Jin’s Greeting,” a huge event with 1,000 fans, suggested by Jin to get closer to ARMYs. Part two will include segments showcasing Jin’s personality and charm. Fans showed support with placards, banners, and balloons at the site.

Fellow BTS members greeted Jin with flowers, music, and warm embraces.

The BTS members represented the ARMYs by personally welcoming Jin after his discharge. RM, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook prepared a mini-event with flowers and music. Jin smiled brightly upon seeing them, and RM made the scene more lively by playing the saxophone. After greeting reporters as a group, they drove away together.

Although Suga was absent, he is expected to join the members during their gathering at the HYBE office. The group will reportedly celebrate Jin’s discharge quietly somewhere in Seoul.
