SHINee’s Taemin has officially set off on a new chapter in his illustrious career by joining a new agency. On April 1, Big Planet Made Entertainment announced that Taemin had signed an exclusive contract with them, marking the end of his 16-year tenure with SM Entertainment.
In their announcement, Big Planet Made Entertainment stated, “We recently signed an exclusive contract with singer Taemin, who is unparalleled in his activities both as SHINee’s main dancer and as a solo artist. We will actively support Taemin’s wide range of activities in his music career, and we will do our utmost so that he can soar in broader places and in a variety of directions. We ask that you give lots of support and love to Taemin as he makes a new start.”

Despite this significant change, SM Entertainment clarified that SHINee’s group activities would remain under their management. This means that while Taemin’s solo endeavours will be handled by Big Planet Made Entertainment, SHINee as a group will continue to operate under SM Entertainment’s guidance.
Taemin debuted under SM Entertainment as part of SHINee in 2008, capturing fans’ hearts with his incredible talent and charisma. He later ventured into a successful solo career in 2014, further establishing himself as a versatile artist. His move to Big Planet Made Entertainment, which houses artists like VIVIZ, former NU’EST member Ren, Ha Sung Woon, Lee Mujin, Huh Gak, and BE’O, promises new opportunities and growth in his already impressive career.
