In the lead-up to Paris, Team GB has focused on enhancing its ethical culture within various sports, addressing concerns raised by athletes about a culture of fear in organizations like cycling and gymnastics. Baker emphasized the importance of achieving success while upholding ethical standards, highlighting the team’s progress in this area over the past three years.

Mark England, the team’s chef de mission, praised the sophistication of Team GB’s high-performance system, asserting that they are well-prepared and not overlooking any strategic opportunities. He expressed confidence in the team’s readiness to perform at their peak during the Games, underscoring the depth of talent among British athletes heading to Paris.

Meanwhile, ParalympicsGB is also aiming high, targeting between 100 to 140 medals in Paris. Baker expressed optimism about achieving at least 100 medals even under challenging circumstances, reflecting the strong historical performance and ongoing preparations of the Paralympics team.

Both Team GB and ParalympicsGB are poised for a competitive showing at the Paris Olympics, with meticulous planning, ethical considerations, and high-performance standards shaping their approach to the Games.
