Athelstan Joseph Michael Eavis, or just Michael Eavis as some may know him, is a dairy farmer who also shares hosting duties for the summer Glastonbury Festival at his farm in Pilton, Somerset.
The 87-year-old was born there as well. Michael Eavis joined the British Merchant Navy after completing his studies at the Thames Nautical Training College in Kent.

He particularly joined the Union-Castle Line, a British shipping company, where he remained as a midshipman.
Eavis apparently intended to stay in the army for the ensuing 20 years in order to retire afterward and receive a pension that would supplement his family’s income, but the unexpected death of his father compelled him to return home.
Despite inheriting his father’s 150-acre farm, he worked at other farms in Nettlebridge to support his family.
Michael Eavis Wife
After divorcing his first wife and marrying Jean Hayball, he went on to have three more marriages and have three children with her. The couple produced a son and a daughter, but Jean tragically passed away very young.
This prompted Eavis to remarry, and the two have been together since 1999. Since he and his second wife, Jean Hayball, saw Led Zeppelin perform at the Bath Festival of Blues, Michael Eavis has advocated for the Glastonbury Festival to last five days.

In 1970, Eavis was able to organize his own Pilton Pop, Folk, and Blues Festival, which, with Andrew Kerr’s assistance, evolved into the Glastonbury Fayre. This occasion ultimately inspired the creation of the modern Glastonbury Festival.
It’s remarkable to watch Eavis transition from attempting to make additional money for his family to hold a wildly successful modern art festival while also getting involved in politics and charitable activities.

Michael Eavis Net Worth
It is discovered that the 87-year-old is only worth up to $5 million. It is incredible how a tiny farmer was able to organize one of the biggest music festivals in the world, which was attended by notable performers like Kendrick Lamar, The Artic Monkeys, Diana Ross, Billie Eilish, and many others.

Michael Eavis owns the farm where the festival is held, and it is estimated that up to 200,000 people attend the event each year. It is amazing that Eavis was able to start this festival in the first place, even though it appears to increase every year.
The festival once brought in a staggering thirty-two million pounds in revenue for Michael, but others claim that out of the total, he only keeps six figures as a yearly salary for himself.
There is a reason why Michael owns the land where the Glastonbury Festival is held and why he only has a meager net worth of $5 million despite having hosted such a significant and enormous music festival for decades.
Michael Eavis Business
Emily, his daughter, who has gradually taken over the festival’s hosting duties, stated that a portion of Michael’s revenues from the event—roughly two million pounds—goes to causes that her parents have long supported. Additionally, they decide to deposit £10,000,000 in the bank for festival-related emergencies.
A maximum of fifty personnel are employed by the family to ensure the success of the event, and they must be compensated.

Michael has acknowledged that he wants to support the charities he has been associated with for as long as possible, which is one of the reasons he keeps pushing for the music festival.
His efforts to help charities and keep up with his humanitarian deeds have really been recognized by a number of notable people, including the Times magazine and the British Royal Family. A sizeable amount of his savings and income come from the music festival.
He keeps making contributions to society, and it appears that his kids will follow in his footsteps and uphold his heritage.
