Michigan’s quarterback, J.J. McCarthy, made a big play to tie the game. Then, in overtime, running back Blake Corum scored the game-winning touchdown.

Michigan’s defense made a crucial stop to secure the victory.

Portnoy had some bad luck with bets earlier this year, so this win was especially sweet for him.

He was more excited about Michigan winning than the money he won from his bet.

Now, Michigan will play for the national championship. Portnoy said he doesn’t care about the money; he just wants Michigan to win.

Even though Alabama lost, Portnoy still likes their team. He offered to pay off the house of a big Alabama fan.

Michigan will play for the national title against the winner of the Washington and Texas game next Monday in Houston.
