Starship Entertainment Addresses Cyberattack on Artists' YouTube Channels

On March 4, several YouTube channels affiliated with Starship Entertainment artists fell victim to a cyberattack, causing significant disruption. Notably, IVE’s channel, boasting 3.37 million subscribers, was unlawfully renamed to ‘SpaceX’ with all videos removed. Subscribers also faced access issues to content from MONSTA X and CRAVITY due to the attack.

Amid the chaos, CRAVITY succeeded in restoring their music video for “Love Or Die,” featured in their latest album ‘EVERSHINE,’ which had debuted just a week prior.

Starship Entertainment’s artists’ YouTube channels, including IVE’s, were hacked on March 4, with IVE’s channel renamed to ‘SpaceX’ and all videos removed.

In response to the incident, Starship Entertainment promptly issued a statement reassuring fans and stakeholders of their proactive measures. They acknowledged the breach, stating, “We’re currently dealing with an unexpected hacking of our artists’ official YouTube channels. We’re working closely with YouTube to fix the problem and get everything back on track as soon as we can. Sorry for any inconvenience this might cause.”

The incident underscores ongoing cybersecurity challenges faced by entertainment entities, highlighting the importance of robust digital security measures in safeguarding online content and user access.
