Seoul High Court Rules in Favor of Former LOONA Member Chuu, Invalidates Contract with Blockberry Creative

Seoul High Court reaffirms invalidity of Chuu's contract with Blockberry Creative.

On March 8 KST, the civil division of the Seoul High Court upheld its decision, affirming that former LOONA member Chuu is not bound by her exclusive contract with Blockberry Creative.

This ruling echoes the initial verdict from the Seoul District Court last year, which initially sided with Chuu’s request to nullify her contract. Chuu had initiated legal proceedings in 2021 to dissolve her ties with Blockberry Creative.

After a legal battle, Chuu was liberated to pursue a career with the new agency ATRP.

In November 2022, Blockberry Creative removed Chuu from LOONA amid ongoing legal disputes. The protracted legal battle concluded in August of the following year, ultimately granting Chuu the freedom to pursue her career under a new agency, ATRP.

The court’s decision marks a significant legal victory for Chuu, allowing her to move forward independently with her professional endeavours outside of Blockberry Creative’s management.
