Carol Burnett, now 91, has no plans to retire from Hollywood. At her Hand and Footprint Ceremony at TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, she said she will keep working as long as it remains fun for her. Her latest role is in the Apple TV+ series “Palm Royale,” which is set for a second season.
Burnett was thrilled to join “Palm Royale” because of its impressive cast, including Kristen Wiig, Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Laura Dern, Josh Lucas, and Kaia Gerber. She agreed to be part of the show as soon as she heard who was in it, and reading the script only increased her excitement for the second season.
Even after a long career, Burnett has a wish list of stars she hopes to work with, such as Meryl Streep, George Clooney, and Bradley Cooper. She feels fortunate to have worked with many talented people over the years, especially during her 11-year show that featured numerous guest stars.
During her ceremony speech, Burnett reminisced about growing up near the Chinese Theatre and visiting it with her grandmother. She never imagined she would one day have her own handprints and footprints there. She thanked her family, friends, and co-stars who attended the ceremony.
Burnett also shared a funny memory of taking toilet paper from the theatre’s restroom with her grandmother. She expressed her gratitude to her “Better Call Saul” co-stars, Jimmy Kimmel and Laura Dern, for helping make the ceremony happen, thanking them sincerely.
