ZEROBASEONE Secures Prestigious “Rookie Grand Slam” in K-Pop

Annually, rookie K-Pop idols vie for the coveted “Rookie of the Year” awards at various year-end shows. Winning this award at all five major shows—Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), Melon Music Awards (MMA), Golden Disk Awards (GDA), Seoul Music Awards (SMA), and Circle Chart Music Awards (CCMA)—is a rare feat known as the “Rookie Grand Slam.”

On January 10, ZEROBASEONE achieved this prestigious honour by winning the rookie award at CCMA, making them the seventh K-Pop group and the first boy group in four years to complete the Rookie Grand Slam. They join the elite ranks of SHINee (2008), iKON (2015), WANNA ONE (2017), ITZY and TXT (2019), and aespa (2022).

Additionally, ZEROBASEONE’s Zhang Hao was awarded the VIAJE Global Popularity Award, making him the first foreign idol and the third individual idol to receive this honour, following EXO’s Sehun (2016) and Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon (2017).
