Singer and actress Choi Ye Na is set to make her first comeback since the “Hate Rodrigo” controversy. Media reports on December 21 KST revealed that Choi Ye Na is in the final preparation stages for her return, scheduled for mid-January 2024.
In June, Choi Ye Na faced backlash over her title track “Hate Rodrigo” from her second single album, ‘Hate XX.’ The song was criticized for directly referencing pop star Olivia Rodrigo in its name and lyrics, and Choi Ye Na’s portrayal in the music video was deemed a “copycat” of the pop singer.
Following the controversy, Choi Ye Na paused her promotions in Korea and debuted in Japan with “Smiley -Japanese Ver.-” featuring Chanmina in August.
