Released on December 22, the solo digital single, a holiday gift for fans following his enlistment for mandatory military service, quickly rose to the top in various countries, signalling another successful release for the artist.
Within a day of its release, “Closer Than This” has hit No. 1 in 100 countries, including the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, and more.
This achievement makes Jimin the first and only K-Pop solo act to reach No. 1 in 100 countries with seven different songs. His previous chart-toppers include “Angel Pt.1,” “Like Crazy,” “Set Me Free Pt.2,” “Vibe,” “With You,” and “Filter.”
