Mariska joked with reporters about her sparkly outfit and shared her excitement for the show’s 25th season premiere. She also mentioned her upcoming 60th birthday on January 23.

Reflecting on her journey, Mariska expressed gratitude for her life and career. In an exclusive cover story interview with PEOPLE, Hargitay highlighted meeting Hermann as a significant milestone she reached later in life.

“I didn’t get cast [on SVU] until I was 35, and then the show kept going as I aged. At 45, we’d been on for ten years, and I just met my husband [when Hermann had a guest role on the show.] The man of my dreams,” she said. “I got married at 40. I had August [her eldest son] at 42. So it was like defying all the odds.”

“I can’t believe it’s been 25 years since the show started! But at the same time, I can’t imagine it ending. I love being part of this journey with my cast and crew,” she said at Law & Order: SVU’s 25th anniversary celebration.

Mariska’s positive outlook and appreciation for her experiences highlight her contentment with both her professional and personal life.
