Judge Judy Launches Lawsuit Against National Enquirer and InTouch Weekly

“Judge Judy” Sheindlin went to court on Monday. She sued the company that owns the National Enquirer and InTouch Weekly. She said they published a story that wasn’t true. The story said she was trying to help the Menendez brothers get a new trial after they were found guilty of killing their parents.

The story first appeared on InTouch Weekly’s website on April 10. It had a headline saying she was trying to help the Menendez brothers. Later, a similar story came out in the National Enquirer.

Judge Judy said she never talked about the Menendez case. She thinks the news outlets mixed up what someone else said with her name. The person they quoted was from a TV show, not her.

The company that owns the magazines didn’t respond right away.

Judge Judy didn’t ask for a specific amount of money in her lawsuit, but she made it clear it would be a lot. She said when people make up stories about her just to make money, it’s not right. She wants them to pay for it.

She’s had problems with the National Enquirer before. In 2017, they had to say sorry for printing false stories about her having Alzheimer’s disease and being unhappy in her marriage.
