Saundra Glenn, a 65-year-old fan of Coldplay, had a wonderful experience when Chris Martin, the lead singer of the band, offered her a ride to their concert in the U.K. on Sunday, May 26.

Saundra shared her excitement on X the next day, saying, “That moment when Chris Martin @Coldplay saw me struggling to walk, had his car stop and gave me a lift. Blooming amazing. Can’t believe this happened.”

She also mentioned that she had a nice chat with Martin during the ride and described him as a “decent bloke”

In an interview with ITV News, Saundra explained that despite her mobility issues due to osteoarthritis, she was determined to see Coldplay perform at Stockwood Park in Luton, her hometown.

“I really, really, really wanted to see Chris Martin and Coldplay,” she said. “I thought to myself, I know this park, I’ve known it since I was a child, and it’s once in a lifetime to see Chris Martin, I just have to do it. If I go late, and just watch them, I should be OK.”

As Saundra was walking towards the Big Weekend event, a black Mercedes pulled up beside her, offering help. To her surprise, Chris Martin was sitting inside the car.

“So she tells me to get in the back and the door opens and there’s Chris Martin sat there. I couldn’t believe it and the first thing I said was, ‘You’re Chris Martin! Can I shake your hand?!’” she recalled.

During the ride, they talked about growing up in Luton, and Martin asked about Saundra’s life and job.

Upon arriving at the concert area, Martin helped Saundra get to the accessibility area where she could comfortably enjoy the show.

“They put me in a buggy that said ‘artist’ on it and escorted me to the accessibility area. They were falling over themselves to help me,” Saundra said, expressing her gratitude for the kindness shown to her.
