The 2024 Wagoneer S, Jeep’s inaugural all-electric SUV for the U.S., priced at $72,000, marks a significant milestone for the brand amidst a broader industry shift towards electrification.
This move aligns with Stellantis’ larger EV strategy, as CEO Carlos Tavares outlines plans for multiple electric models, including a midsize SUV and a Wrangler-inspired vehicle. Despite regulatory pressures, Tavares views EVs as a means to maintain profitability.
For Jeep, known for its PHEVs, the Wagoneer S represents a new chapter, boasting impressive specs and design innovations, while emphasizing sustainability in its materials and features.
The vehicle’s Launch Edition offers a 400-volt, 100-kilowatt-hour battery pack capable of more than 300 miles on a single charge, along with 600 horsepower and 617 pound-feet of torque for a 0-60 mph acceleration of 3.4 seconds.
It also introduces a Trailhawk off-road performance concept, hinting at future variants. A production plant in Mexico, the Wagoneer S is the first “global” EV for Jeep, designed to appeal to a wide audience.
Design-wise, the Wagoneer S features a modern interpretation of Jeep’s iconic seven-slotted grille and a sleek profile, making it the most aerodynamic Jeep ever produced.
Inside, sustainable materials and a plethora of screens reflect a commitment to eco-consciousness and modern luxury. This blend of performance, innovation, and sustainability positions the Wagoneer S as a trailblazer in the electric SUV market.
