Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and a prominent figure in the tech industry, quietly welcomed another child earlier this year with Shivon Zilis, who is the director of special projects at Neuralink Corp.
Musk confirmed this news to Page Six, refuting claims that it was kept secret from their close circle, stating that their friends and family were aware. Despite not issuing a formal press release, Musk emphasized that not publicizing the birth did not equate to secrecy.
Details about the sex and name of Musk’s newest child with Zilis have not been disclosed. Musk and his partners are known for maintaining privacy regarding their children. In September 2023, Grimes, who shares several children with Musk, including X Æ A-Xii and twins Strider and Azure, born in 2021, addressed recent media attention and requested privacy for their family.
She also spoke positively about her relationship with Zilis, expressing a desire for mutual respect and friendship as their children grow up together.
Musk’s parenting journey has been marked by both joy and tragedy. His first child, Nevada Alexander, born in 2002 with his first wife, tragically passed away from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) at 10 weeks old. Since then, Musk and subsequent partners have welcomed several children, including twins with Zilis in November 2021 and a daughter with Grimes via surrogate in December 2021 named Exa Dark Sideræl.
The birth of Musk’s latest child comes following the release of Walter Isaacson’s biography in 2023, which revealed details about Techno Mechanicus, Musk and Grimes’ son born in 2021.
Known also as “Tau,” this child adds to the diverse family Musk has built over the years. Despite the public interest in his personal life, Musk continues to navigate fatherhood with a blend of privacy and occasional public announcements, respecting the boundaries he and his partners set for their families.
