On the seventh day of its release, “Indian 2” experienced a slight decline in box office earnings. The film, directed by S. Shankar and starring Kamal Haasan, has accumulated an estimated ₹70 crore nett in its first week. Despite the dip, the movie’s performance remains strong overall, continuing to draw audiences.

The film had a robust opening, earning ₹25.6 crore on its first day, with contributions from various language versions: Tamil (₹16.5 crore), Hindi (₹1.2 crore), and Telugu (₹7.9 crore).

The subsequent days saw a gradual decline in earnings, with day two bringing in ₹18.2 crore, day three ₹15.35 crore, and day four dropping to ₹3 crore. Day five and six continued the downward trend with collections of ₹3 crore and ₹3.3 crore, respectively.

By day seven, “Indian 2” had generated an additional ₹2 crore nett, taking its total to ₹70.45 crore in India. The film’s performance indicates a steady but slightly decreasing interest from audiences over the week, which is not uncommon for films after their initial release.

“Indian 2” is a sequel to the 1996 hit “Indian,” which was also directed by S. Shankar and featured Kamal Haasan in a dual role. The new installment includes a cast of Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, and Rakul Preet Singh, and is produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and the screenplay is written by Jayamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu, and Lakshmi Saravanakumar.

Recently, the film’s runtime was shortened by 12 minutes to create a “streamlined edition,” aimed at enhancing the viewing experience. This edited version, as announced on Lyca Productions’ official social media, offers audiences a crisper presentation of the movie, potentially influencing ongoing box office performance.
